KYC Review
Review, approve, or reject KYC submissions with document verification.
Overview
The KYC review process is the core function of Compliance Desk. As a compliance officer, you'll review submitted documents, verify user identities, and make approval or rejection decisions.
KYC Types
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Individual KYC | Personal accounts with ID and address verification |
| Corporate KYC | Business accounts with company documents and director verification |
Understanding KYC Status
Each KYC submission can have the following statuses:
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Pending | Documents submitted and awaiting review. These appear in your queue. |
| Verified | All documents approved. User is fully verified. |
| Rejected | Documents declined. User must resubmit with valid documents. |
| Partial Approved | Some documents approved, others pending or rejected. Requires attention. |
Review Process Steps
Step 1: Select a Pending Submission
Navigate to Individual or Corporate KYC list and filter by "Pending" status. Click on a submission to open the review page.
Tip: The dashboard shows pending counts for quick access.
Step 2: Review User Information
Check the user's profile information including name, date of birth, nationality, and contact details. Ensure the information matches the submitted documents.
Step 3: Verify Identity Document (Step 2)
Review the government-issued ID document. Check for:
- Document is valid and not expired
- Photo matches the user's profile or selfie
- Name matches the profile information
- Document is clear and readable
- No signs of tampering or editing
Step 4: Verify Address Document (Step 3)
Review the proof of address document. Check for:
- Document is dated within the last 3 months
- Name matches the ID document
- Full address is visible
- Document is from an official source
- Document type is acceptable (utility bill, bank statement)
Step 5: Make Your Decision
For each document step, you can:
- Approve - Accept the document if all criteria are met
- Reject - Decline with a reason so user can resubmit
Common Rejection Reasons
When rejecting a document, always provide a clear reason:
- Document is blurry or unreadable
- Document has expired
- Name doesn't match profile
- Document is cropped or incomplete
- Proof of address is older than 3 months
- Document type not accepted
- Photo doesn't match
- Signs of tampering detected
You can manage pre-defined rejection reasons in Settings > Rejection Reasons.
