Hierarchy

View your interactive organization chart with branches, departments, and staff.

Overview

The Organization Hierarchy view provides a visual representation of your company structure. It shows how branches, departments, and designations relate to each other, giving you a clear picture of your organizational layout.

Hierarchy Structure

The hierarchy is displayed in levels:

Level 1: Company Root

  • Your company name and logo at the top
  • Starting point of the hierarchy

Level 2: Branches

  • Office locations
  • Staff count per branch
  • Regulation status indicator

Level 3: Departments

  • Functional business units
  • Grouped under branches
  • Team member counts

Level 4: Staff

  • Individual staff members
  • Shows designation/title
  • Links to staff profile

TipThe hierarchy view is an excellent onboarding tool. Share it with new staff members to help them quickly understand the company structure, identify key people, and learn which teams handle different responsibilities.

NoteStaff members must be assigned to both a branch and a department to appear in the hierarchy chart. Unassigned staff will not be visible in the tree view -- check their profile if someone is missing.

Accessing the Hierarchy View

  1. Go to Organization menu
  2. Click "Hierarchy"
  3. View the visual organization chart

Using the Hierarchy View

  • Click on nodes: Expand/collapse sections
  • Click on staff: Go to staff profile
  • Click on branch: View branch details
  • Click on department: View department details

Visual Indicators

  • Branch icons: Show branch type
  • Staff counts: Numbers in badges
  • Status colors: Active (green), Inactive (gray)
  • Designation labels: Job titles shown

Hierarchy Stats

The view includes summary statistics:

  • Total branches
  • Total departments
  • Total designations
  • Total staff

Building Your Hierarchy

The hierarchy is automatically built based on your organization setup:

  1. Create Branches: Establish your office locations
  2. Assign Staff to Branches: Staff appear under their branch
  3. Assign Staff to Departments: Further organization
  4. Set Designations: Define job levels
  5. View Hierarchy: Automatically reflects your structure

Filtering the Hierarchy

You can filter the view by:

  • Branch (show specific location)
  • Department (show specific team)
  • Active/Inactive staff

Best Practices

  1. Complete Assignments: Assign all staff to branches and departments
  2. Use Designations: Helps visualize seniority
  3. Review Regularly: Keep the structure updated
  4. Share with Team: Use for onboarding and orientation

Troubleshooting

Staff Not Appearing

  1. Check if staff has a branch assigned
  2. Verify staff is active
  3. Refresh the page

Hierarchy Not Loading

  1. Clear browser cache
  2. Check for many staff (may take time)
  3. Try a different browser

Missing Departments

  1. Verify department exists
  2. Check if any staff are assigned
  3. Departments without staff may not show
